Waitlist registration

When you join our waitlist, we collect:

• Email address
• Reading interest selections
• E-reader device preference
• Optional feedback

We also record:

• Timestamp
• Page referrer
• Source parameter (for analytics)

Account information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Password (hashed — never stored in plaintext)
• Kindle email address (e.g. your-name@kindle.com)

Usage data

We collect operational metadata necessary to run the Service:

• Article titles
• Processing timestamps
• Translation language selections
• Job status logs
• Error messages

This helps us monitor service health and improve quality.

Automatically collected data

We collect:

• IP address (anonymized)
• Browser type and version
• Operating system
• Pages visited
• Referral source

We use Google Analytics (GA4) for this purpose.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We take this seriously. The following data is never stored, indexed, sold, or shared:

Article content

• Processed in memory only (typically under 60 seconds)
• Deleted immediately after EPUB delivery
• Never stored, read, indexed, or analyzed

Reading history

• No persistent log of articles sent
• Job records store only titles
• Automatically deleted after 30 days

Translation content

• Discarded after delivery
• Not used to train AI models

Browsing activity

• Chrome Extension activates only when clicked
• No background tracking or script injection

3. How We Use Your Information

• Operate the Service: process articles, generate EPUBs, deliver to Kindle, manage accounts and quotas
• Communicate: waitlist invites, account notifications, service updates, support responses
• Improve the product: analyze aggregate, anonymized usage patterns
• Enforce terms: detect abuse, enforce rate limits, prevent misuse

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following services:

We do NOT sell or share personal data for advertising or marketing.

5. Data Retention

• Article content: deleted immediately after delivery
• Job metadata: retained for 30 days
• Account data: kept while account is active
• Account deletion: data removed within 30 days
• Waitlist data: until removal request or end of waitlist phase
• Analytics data: up to 14 months (GA default)

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable safeguards:

• TLS/HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
• Passwords hashed with industry-standard algorithms
• Restricted database access
• Isolated processing containers for article handling
• No persistent storage of article content

No system is 100% secure. Absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

7. Cookies

We use only:

• Essential cookies (session management)
• Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)

We do NOT use:

• Advertising cookies
• Tracking pixels
• Cross-site trackers

You can opt out via Google's browser add-on.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and data
• Export your data
• Withdraw consent anytime

HushRead is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If detected, data will be deleted promptly.

10. International Users

HushRead operates from Vietnam.

Your data may be processed in other countries where our servers are located or third-party services operate. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

For EEA / UK users

We process data based on:

• Legitimate interest (service operation)
• Consent (waitlist, analytics)

You may exercise GDPR rights via email.
